About the Author/Illustrator
Lynnette
Schuepbach
“How would a grown-up woman know
what frogs living in “Froggy Hollow” would do? And how does she know that
children will understand them exactly as she does? Because this grown-up has
never quite left behind the wondrous imagination that children all are blessed
to have. Lynnette has retained her sense of wonder at the world and her sense of
wondering about what “just might could” go on in it when the grown-ups are not
looking!”… Alice Gibson, editor
Lynnette Schuepbach is a
self-taught artist/illustrator and author/poet with a Bachelor of Music
Education degree from SIUE. Froggy Hollow is the first of her many
children’s stories to be published and is dedicated to her first grandson, Kade
Alen Schuepbach, born on August 17, 2004. Although this is Lynnette’s first
published children’s book, her poetry has been featured in several poetry
anthologies since 1984, and one of her poems, “Speak to Me,” was used as the
basis for a wood carving book published by Walnut Hollow of Dodgeville,
Wisconsin.
Lynnette’s wide range of work experience has given
her an eclectic look at life, always focused on education. After substituting in
the public school systems, she taught various craft projects in the art, craft
and framing industries. As a guest teacher, Lynnette appeared on several cable
television programs. She was instrumental in the development of a
lesson-plan/videotape grant program for school systems, and for the past two
years, she presented at the Parents As Teachers National Center’s Conference to
help parent educators learn hands-on skills to teach traditional curriculum in a
creative way.
Lynnette is a Nationally Certified Massage
Therapist, Reflexologist, and Certified Unified Field Therapy Practitioner. She
taught Reflexology to the students at two massage schools in St. Louis for over
3 years. She credits her recent flow of creativity to continued work with
Unified Field Therapy, developed in St. Louis, Missouri by Michael Linkogel.
Most recently, she founded the
charitable not-for-profit group, Creativity Research, Education and Technique
Enhancement (CREATE) Foundation. Its mission is to encourage creativity in all
ages with an immediate focus on using craft projects to teach traditional
curriculum in the school systems.
Lynnette has two sons and
two grandchildren and has used her personal experiences in teaching children
when developing her line of children’s books.
